Summer’s are hot and steamy here in TN {most years…this year seems to be an exception} and one of my favorite outfits to throw on in a hurry are shorts and a gingham button down shirt.

I’ve been away from the blog far longer than I had anticipated. Since my last post we sold our previous home in a nice neighborhood, That was a drawn out fiasco that I will give a brief overview that does the actual experience no justice. We packed a moving truck Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and were supposed to close the morning after. Ten minutes before we were supposed to close, we got a call that everything fell through with our buyers buyer so we had to go home and unload our entire house from the truck. Luckily, we did close two weeks later only to have our house broken into less than two weeks from the day we moved in. Despite all that drama, it has all worked out great and we love where we are!  We moved from a nearly 3000 sf house in a really nice neighborhood to an apartment over a large workshop on 10 acres.  The shop fits into our future plans really well because it gives my husband a perfect place for his business and I’ll have on site storage for clients deliveries until installation plus an office in the apartment upstairs that we are living in now once we build our house.

We get to have cows, chickens, rabbits and goats again and we are so happy!  We have been working on adding a bunk room for the kids and will be making small changes to make our new home more comfortable.  Our plan is to live here for 3-5 years and pay it off and then build.  We want to do the Dave Ramsey thing and get out from under a house payment.  I’ll be sharing pictures of our projects along the way and you can also keep up with all the goings on on Instagram either on my sidebar widget or your can follow me @sharonbarrettinteriors if you want.  I’ve got some online design boards to post as soon. I’ll be posting but while we are working on our house, it will not be every day.  I’m still designing so email me if you need some help.

Here are a few random pics from the last few months to catch up just for fun!  Here are snapshots from the past three months in no particular order.

Santa brought ipods to the kids for Christmas!  (Notice the giant dark spot on the Christmas tree where the lights would not work.  We were supposed to close the first time the next day and I didn’t give a rip about the lights.)

Snug as a pug in a rug… Nacho was kind enough to let me take a picture.  Considering he was wrapped like a burrito and couldn’t move, it didn’t take much coaxing.

My husband and boys love of hunting pays off.  It doesn’t get better than gold spray painted antlers.

Injury 1 of 3,599,678,908 that will happen playing in the woods at our new house.  Way to go Wyatt…thanks for making sure your Evil Kinevil nickname is still relevant.

Clean-up after our break in….I didn’t take a picture before we fixed the door frame back.  It was more dramatic.  I don’t want anymore of these type pictures.

In the waiting room at the pediatrician….we’ve been there so much this winter there are permanent butt prints in the waiting room seats from our family.

Annnnnd…another dr.s appointment…this time a two-fer.  Larry the cable guy in camo was a little camera shy.

Keaton all ready to go to a Valentine’s dance at her school with her first boyfriend (who happens to be a sweet boy from a sweet family we’ve know almost our entire life).  She’s wearing all my clothes except for the gold jeans.  I’m so proud that she doesn’t want to look like hoochie mama like most of the girls her age do.  Braided bun, riding boots, gold jeans…too cute!

The start of may fun projects at the farm house.  More on this later.  ;)  All I can say is my husband is the bomb!

There it is…three months in a nutshell.  I’m looking forward to getting back into the swing of blogging.  Hope you’ve had a great winter too!

Can anyone else relate?

Sorry for the lack of posts lately.  We have had our house for sale for the past 8 months with not much success…than came October.  We’ve had a drastic increase in traffic and I’ve spent the past month and a half cleaning the house non-stop.  I’m still doing design work, I just haven’t had time to post about it.  I’ll be back as soon as things slow down a tad or our house sells.  :)
