When working with clients, I am often asked where one should spend and where to skimp.  My answer is always the same:  Spend on furniture, fabric and lighting.  I have learned over the years that it’s better to buy very good quality furniture.  If you don’t, you end up spending what you would’ve on quality furniture and then some because poor quality furniture will have to be replaced LONG before high quality furnishings.  Do your research before you purchase and know what you’re buying.

That being said….we sold our sectional that was in our gathering room a month or so ago and I knew I wanted to replace it with something that I would love.  After searching on Craiglist, I found these beauties for $900.00.  They are from Huntington House and just the couch alone would cost anywhere from $2500-$3000 (and that does not include the chair!!)….and I love them!

We also scored some slipcovered Lee Industry chairs and ottoman from Craiglist a few years back.  If you know what you’re looking for and are willing to wait for what you want, you can get a great deal…and have your high quality for a steal!
