I have always loved hanging beds and when I ran across the ones below I was in love! This room is perfection and the perfect blend of color and texture!
It’s Tuesday…..yahoo….that means that it’s time to take a look at a home design trend. Today, we’re looking at painted ceilings. I love seeing painted ceilings in a room. When done right, it can really kick your decor up a notch while not interfering with the other colors and textures in your room.
Have you done anything interesting to your ceilings?
Happy Monday ya’ll! I am STILL sick so this week I may miss a couple days…if I do, I’ll be up and at ‘em soon. I am really having trouble shaking the upper respiratory infection and sinus infection that has taken up residence in my body!
Here’s a fun start to a Monday….while cruising around on Pinterest, I ran across a DIY project that is super cute, simple and cheap….which translates into a winner for me! Enter the cookie sheet turned chic tray…..oooooh…..aaaahhhhh.
I can think of about a million uses for this….bedside tray, remote control holder….counter organizer.
You can check out the instructions at Martha Stewart.com.
Today’s Friday Fave comes from one of my favorite creative gals, Shannon Berrey. I have featured her work on my blog before and I know I will again! She has super chic solutions on a shoestring budget that look fantastic. Today, I am highlighting her DIY Monogram Lampshades. I love a monogram on just about anything and these lampshades l0ok so great! You can find the step by step instructions on Shannon’s blog.
Don’t you just love how great this looks?! You won’t beleive how easy and inexpensive it is!
This year for Christmas, I knew I wanted to get some DIY projects done around the house and #1 on my list was installing lighting in the shelves that surround our entertainment center. Since my husband is super handy, he installed low watt, led rope lighting in each shelf. I had just covered the back of the shelves in fabric and I wanted a subtle little glow so all of my little knick knacks show up. While he sits and watches t.v., I stare at my tchotchkes….pure happiness! He wired a switch on the lights so I can switch them on and off without having to unplug them each night because he knew I would have them on every waking moment. Here are some pictures of my shelves and then I’ll show you the lighting we used. It’s really inexpensive and makes a huge difference! I think we did all six shelves with wiring and a switch for less than $45.oo! Now get ready for some pictures!
These are the lights we used. He strung a 2 ft LED rope light above the trim of each shelf so that it would glow from the front, wouldn’t cast shadows and the lights would not be visible. We got them at Home Depot.
Didn’t he do a fabulous job?!
